Mario & Sonic Olympics Snowboard

To promote the release of the new Mario & Sonic Winter Olympics game for Wii, Sega is giving away this awesome snowboard to the lucky winner who can make up the coolest new snowboard trick. The bottom of the board features Mario and Sonic, while the top has logos for each character featured in the game. The snowboard is a cool promotion that fits perfectly with the winter Olympic games theme. Custom mittens or promotional winter hats are some other good product ideas – we’ll keep our eyes peeled to see if any other cool Mario & Sonic schwag hits the streets.

Pacman Coffee Mug

This heat-sensitive coffee mug boasts the layout of a familiar arcade game – it’s called “Pac Boy” on the product page, neatly sidestepping copyright violations – which becomes populated with a bunch of equally familiar characters when hot liquid is added. They also have a version with graphics from “Space Intruders” – use your imagination on that one – where a blank starry sky signals tepid coffee or (horror!) no coffee at all, but a sky full of aliens means you’re good to go.

War in Your Slurpee

Yes, this is exactly what it looks like – 7-11 is offering limited edition plastic cups featuring God of War III artwork for their Slurpees this week, which is pretty much a gamer geek’s dream come true. There’s even a themed Slurpee for the promotion, a blackberry-lime flavor in a fetching shade of blue called “Kratos Fury.” Ok, that doesn’t sound all that appetizing, but let’s face it, neither does the word “Slurpee.” Does this make them any less addictive? Of course not. Anyway, when you buy a Slurpee in one of these promotional cups, you receive point codes that can be used toward promotional game merchandise like wallpapers, Playstation themes, videos, and in-game costumes for characters when you redeem them at Slurpee Rewards. Not a bad deal, considering how many of the sugary beverages you could end up slurping down this week…

Pac Man Gets Literary

When Pac Man gets tired of chowing down on flashing dots, he likes to kick back and relax with a good book…or, judging from this photo, a whole lot of good books. The bookcase, designed by Ginepro, is called “Puckman,” most likely to avoid the nasty copyright issues that might be invoked by mentioning our yellow video game buddy, but we all know his real identity. All a room with this on the wall needs is a bunch of lamps shaped like ghosts

Game Boy Dress

This cute custom dress is made to look just like an old-school Game Boy controller. The classic portable game system’s design has been replicated in countless other products (from wallets like this one to fully operational costumes [!]), but most of those were intended for, well, boys. Finally, the girl gamers get some apparel worthy of this classic gadget.

Cooking with WoW

This apron is imbued with World of Warcraft-style super-attributes, making it ideal for the would-be master chef who spent his time at cooking school playing online roleplaying games instead of, well, cooking.

Dedicated gamers know that precision is key when it comes to game controls. The Peregrine controller glove, with 18 touch points that can be customized to perform up to 30 in-game commands, allows a degree of precision that keyboards and mice could never hope to match – the slightest intuitive flinch registers on screen with split-second accuracy, allowing you to control your character more completely than ever. Your favorite game doesn’t stand a chance.

More Gamer-Friendly Holiday Decorations

The holidays are fast approaching. You have a tree full of Christmas ornaments shaped like controllers from your favorite game systems and still feel like something’s missing. The Pac-Man tree skirt isn’t quite getting you in the festive spirit – no, you need Mario mushroom ornaments to really complete the picture. After all, you can’t spell fungi without fun!

(Sorry, we had to say that.)

Video Games vs. Real Life

Many people daydream about living in the world of their favorite video game, film, or book. What if video game characters had to live in our world? I have a feeling they’d respond a lot like the illustration on this t-shirt suggests – imagine if Pac Man had to read the nutritional labels on the dots he eats, or Sonic the Hedgehog had to actually do business with jewelry stores in order to acquire all those gold rings. Mario’s mushrooms would be illegal, and Frogger would be run over by a car before even setting foot on the street. Lame. I don’t know about you, but the whole idea just makes me appreciate video games even more…

Left 4 Dead Cookies

Some people may say they eat, sleep, and breathe video games, but it’s usually a metaphor. Not so here, with these hilarious gingerbread cookies based on characters from the hit game Left 4 Dead 2. Mmm, those zombies really bring out the holiday cheer. I especially like the decapitated head on the guy on the bottom right – talk about realism! This is one holiday gift that’ll definitely bring a smile to any dedicated gamer’s face.
