Arcade Games Come to Life!
Imagine if those arcade driving games you spent so much of your childhood playing worked like real cars…
Designer Garnet Hertz is turning an old OutRun arcade cabinet into a functioning vehicle, installing wheels, motors, and other auto parts along with GPS sensors taken from an iPhone. He has even written custom software that will allow the game screen to display a real-time, real-life map guide of the surrounding territory using the GPS.
While he’s supposedly not planning on taking it out on the road in the interest of auto safety, I still hope he has insurance…
