Video Game Schwag

Monster Hunter, a popular Japanese video game, not surprisingly has a lot of popular schwag that comes with it. Unfortunately, not all promotional merchandise works. Capcom decided to produce an orginal promotional drink called “Monster Hunter Potion.” According to a review the potion supposedly tastes like “a cross between Mountain Dew, a handle of grass and the vinegar used to keep pickles.”

Monster Hunter Potion was not a success. Companies should understand that when marketing a unique product like Monster Hunter, you don’t need to produce bizarre merchandise that doesn’t taste good to sell it. Simple is better, and perhaps a custom color changing mug would have sufficed.
