In-game advertising

I’m accustomed to product placement on television, but video games? The extent of in-game advertising shocked me at first, but then I realized how prevalent it is. Going back to the days when I played NBA Live ‘97 like it was my job, I remember seeing the Nike “swoosh” in front of the announcer’s table. According to AdWeek, in-game advertising will turn into a billion dollar business in 2010. Of course, out-of-game promotional products are still used, too.
